Come and explore Temecula Wine Country with your friends and family as we go on a wine tasting adventure. Located about 40 miles away from San Diego, Temecula is Southern California's top wine country and producer of fine wines. Join us as we travel on a luxury motorcoach with a restroom of course and learn about wine making at its finest.
We start our journey at your departure point of choice and continue up the Interstate 15 to our first winery which is located on the new wine trail which is Leonesse Cellars. The word Leonesse, meaning "village of dreams," is the inspiration behind a lifelong quest to create world class wines from the finest vineyards in the Temecula Valley. Nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards of Temecula's wine country, Leonesse Cellars offers a warm, enchanting setting where visitors can enjoy great wines, spectacular views, and wonderful times with family and friends. Among the wines produced at are Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, White Merlot, Muscat Canelli, and Cinsault Port, as well as small lots of other specially selected varietals. Each of the wines are carefully crafted to preserve the subtle flavors and nuances of the varietal. We will try 6 excellent wines!
The next winery we visit is Cougar Vineyard & Winery is owned and operated by Rick and Jennifer Buffington, the first couple winemakers in the valley. We began making wine as a hobby over 16 years ago. As we began making more wine, better quality wine and winning some competitions, the Cougar label was created named after Cougar Mountain in Bellevue Washington. In 2004 we produced 82 cases commercially then 880 cases the following year, 1200 the next and 3000 last year with the end goal of 5000-7000 cases per year. Our wines are produced in small lots from single vineyards with an occasional blend such as a Super Tuscan or Meritage. We will do an extensive wine tasting of 9 in the Cougar private barrel room. Live music on Saturdays!
We end our journey visit the Wilson Creek Winery. Nestled at the end of Rancho California Road in Temecula Valley lies our family estate vineyard and winery. When the Wilson family acquired a 20-acre winery in 1996, our intentions were simple. We wanted to run a fun, family business producing great wines from the conducive climate and soil of the Temecula Valley. We will do a wine tasting adventure and then saver their famous Almond Champagne. We will do 5 tastings including the famous one.
